A very large ironstone dinner service by Ashworth Brothers, made in England in the latter part of the 19th century. Having Chinoiserie style pattern hand painted on each piece representing flowers and birds, the dinner service is comprised of 70 pieces to include:

12 soup plates, 20 dinner plates, 26 side plates, 12 dessert plates, 1 soup tureen, 2 vegetable tureens, 3 oval serving platters.

Ashworth Brothers were one of the principal producers of earthenware dinner services from 1861 to 1968. In 1968 Ashworth Brothers was renamed Mason's Ironstone China Limited. Messrs Ashworth possess the original Mason Ironstone designs and moulds and have produced 'Mason's Ironstone' to a considerable extent, sometimes re-using the Mason printed marks.

Condition: some discolouration to the yellow glaze on the rims of the plates. Generally in good condition, in line with light use.
