A Must de Cartier Tank ladies' wristwatch, France, circa 1990

£1,195.00

This iconic timepiece needs no introduction. First conceived by Louis Cartier in 1917 and inspired by the clean, powerful lines of the Renault tanks he observed on the Western Front, the Tank has been the cornerstone of Cartier’s watchmaking heritage. In 1977, Cartier broadened its appeal with the launch of the Must de Cartier line, paying tribute to the original Tank Louis Cartier in a more accessible format and offering a variety of dial options—from classic black and vibrant red to striped patterns and multiple gold tones.

This particular Must Tank dates to around 1990 and is presented in excellent condition. Housed in a solid silver case, it features a crisp white dial with striking blue Roman numerals, one of the line’s most elegant variants. The watch is powered by a reliable quartz movement and is complete with its original Cartier steel pin buckle and signature red strap, making it a quintessential blend of classic Cartier design and late-20th-century sophistication.

Condition: overall, in great condition. The silver case is in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches. All the hallmarks and serial numbers are very crisp on the case and case-back. The original white dial is in overall clean condition with the blue Roman numerals in excellent crisp shape. The original blued steel hands and blue spinel cabochon is also in great shape. The quartz movement was last serviced in January 2025 with a new battery being installed. This Cartier Must Tank comes with its original box. The watch also comes with its original steel pin buckle and strap.

Case dimensions: 25mm x 20mm
