A green cast iron fireproof safe, England, circa 1930
A charming cast iron fireproof safe made in England, dating to circa 1930. Finished in its original green paint with a beautifully aged patina, the safe retains its brass maker’s plaque reading “Stephen Cox & Sons, Sedgley, Near Dudley.”
Solidly constructed and complete with its working key, this piece remains fully functional and as practical today as when first manufactured. The compact proportions and characterful surface wear make it ideal as an industrial-style side table, storage piece, or a distinctive standalone feature in any interior.
Condition: good vintage condition with age-related wear. Surface scratches, paint losses, and areas of oxidation consistent with age and use, adding to its authentic industrial character. Lock functions correctly and key is present.
Dimensions: 36cm wide, 38cm deep, 50cm high
