An impressive pair of Polish military 10 × 80 anti-aircraft observation binoculars by TZK, dating from the mid-20th century, mounted on an adjustable wooden tripod with polished metal fittings and accompanied by their original military storage case.

The substantial binoculars feature twin polished metal optical tubes with large 80 mm objective lenses and 10× magnification, designed for long-range observation and the tracking of aircraft. The instrument incorporates adjustable optical settings, an elevation scale, a substantial mounting bracket and a side-mounted operating handle, allowing the binoculars to be positioned and directed with precision.

The binoculars are supported by a sturdy, height-adjustable wooden tripod with polished metal fittings, bracing rods and pointed feet. The combination of polished metal and warm timber gives the instrument a striking industrial and military aesthetic.

Originally designed for military observation, binoculars of this type were used for monitoring aircraft and surveying distant targets, offering a wide field of view and excellent light-gathering capabilities. Their imposing proportions and precision engineering also make them particularly appealing as decorative objects, especially in industrial, contemporary or nautical-inspired interiors.

The accompanying metal military storage case retains its original utilitarian finish and stencilled markings, including “TZK”.

The binoculars, tripod and storage case are complete as shown. Optical performance and mechanical operation have been independently tested.

Condition: In good vintage condition, with surface wear, scratches, marks and patination to the metal components, together with minor wear to the wooden tripod, consistent with age and use. The storage case shows wear and scratches to its original finish. Please refer to photographs.
