A rare 4-bottle wine caddy in perspex by Christian Dior, made in Italy, 1980s
This exceptionally rare 1980s 4-bottle wine caddy, produced in Italy for Christian Dior, is a masterclass in transparent design. Crafted entirely from clear perspex, the caddy features four integrated sleeves to hold and cool wine bottles, while a scattering of dried maple‐like leaves encased within the walls adds an unexpected organic accent. The minimalist form is both striking and functional. It is a captivating conversation starter. Perfectly suited to a refined dining table or as a sculptural element in a home bar, it brings Dior’s signature blend of elegance and innovation to any interior.
Founded in Paris in 1946 by designer Christian Dior, the House of Dior quickly became synonymous with haute couture elegance. In the 1980s, Dior expanded its vision beyond fashion to include sophisticated home accessories and décor under the umbrella of Dior Maison. Collaborating with Italian artisans and manufacturers, Dior Maison pieces (like this perspex wine caddy) embodied the brand’s commitment to innovative materials, impeccable craftsmanship, and forward-thinking design. Even today, Dior’s home collections are celebrated for translating the couture spirit into objects that elevate everyday living.
Condition: very slight crazing to the perspex, one of the sleeves may be a replacement and the outside (not visible one it is in the container) has a different finish, otherwise identical to the other three. Structurally sound and in overall good vintage condition. Please refer to photographs
