A rare pair of 10 x 70 binoculars by Ross, England, circa 1940s

£5,995.00

A rare set of 10 x 70 binoculars manufactured during WWII by Ross. They have been expertly cleaned and hand polished. With a magnification of 10 (magnification) x 70 (aperture), and mounted on a telescopic wood stand, these exceptional binoculars display entirely original optics in a lovely two tone steel and brass case. Undeniably a true piece of artwork created from steel, brass, and aluminium, these binoculars offer astounding visual clarity. They have a sleeker, more modern look than some of the other binoculars of that period and are guaranteed to look incredible in any room or balcony or terrace.

Ross made a range of high quality binoculars and supplied the British and Allied forces during World War One and World War Two. They varied from small and convenient binoculars for tourists and horse racing enthusiasts, to military-style binoculars for specialists, such as sailors or big game hunters.
