A globe drinks trolley, Italy, second half 20th century

£395.00

A decorative and highly functional Italian globe drinks trolley, dating to the second half of the 20th century. Combining bar service with visual appeal, the piece takes the form of a drinks cabinet centred around a hinged globe, mounted within a painted wooden frame.

The globe itself is richly decorated with an old-world map design, opening along the equator to reveal an interior compartment for bottles and glassware. The warm tones of the cartography contrast beautifully with the deep red lacquered frame, creating a striking and characterful appearance typical of Italian decorative design of the period.

The structure is formed from turned wooden supports, united by two shaped tiers. The upper surface provides additional serving space, while the lower tier features a matching decorative panel echoing the map motif. The trolley is raised on castors, allowing for easy movement and practical use as a serving piece.

Condition: good overall, with light surface wear consistent with age and use, including minor marks and scuffs to the lacquered frame and some gentle wear to the globe surface. Please refer to the photographs.

Dimensions: 71cm high, 70cm wide, 45cm deep
