A mid century sideboard in the manner of Vittorio Dassi, Italy, 1960s
This exceptionally elegant Italian sideboard, manufactured in the 1960s, marries Art Deco flair with Mid-Century Modern sensibilities. Crafted in stunning veneer wood, its façade features a striking central motif of antique temple columns that lend architectural gravitas and echo the refined verticality seen in Vittorio Dassi’s work. Flanking the centrepiece are two gracefully shaped side doors, leading to interiors thoughtfully appointed with glass shelving, ideal for displaying fine china, crystalware, or treasured collectibles. An opaline glass top crowns the piece, adding a luminous, refined surface for serving or decorative displays. Secured by antique brass keys and locks, the sideboard stands proudly on four sculpted legs, each reflecting the piece’s harmonious balance of form and function. This sideboard is both a functional storage solution and a sophisticated statement piece, ideally suited to elevate any living or dining space.
Condition: opaline glass with two chips to the edge, two minor indentations or “dings“ to the panel on the left hand side (perpendicular to the wall), and similarly to the right hand side. Otherwise in good vintage condition, minor wear commensurate with age. Please do take time to examine the photographs for condition.
