A striking standing dry bar with integrated light by Joe Colombo, produced in Italy in the 1970s. The cylindrical form features black and white lacquered panels, open internal shelving, and a domed perspex light diffuser mounted on a central chrome stem and circular aluminium base. Combining sculptural presence with practical function, the piece exemplifies Colombo’s vision of modular living.
Joe Colombo (1930–1971) was one of Italy’s most innovative designers, celebrated for his futuristic approach to domestic environments. His works for firms such as Kartell, O-Luce, and Bieffeplast redefined modern living through integrated, multifunctional systems. This bar reflects his philosophy of “living systems,” in which furniture was designed not as static objects but as dynamic components of everyday life.
