A globe table lamp hand made in Murano, Venice, Italy, 1980s
A striking 1980s Murano glass globe table lamp, crafted in Italy and showcasing the island’s renowned glassmaking tradition. The spherical shade features a dramatic band of deep blue encased within clear glass, beautifully infused with controlled bubbles that create depth and movement when illuminated. When lit, the lamp emits a warm, atmospheric glow that highlights the organic textures and layered coloration within the glass. Resting on a minimalist black circular base, the clean, sculptural form reflects the bold yet refined aesthetic typical of late 20th century Italian design. A superb decorative accent piece, equally suited to modern, postmodern, or contemporary interiors.
Murano glass from this period is celebrated for its technical mastery and artistic experimentation. Each piece is individually blown, making every example subtly unique in pattern and bubble formation, a testament to the craftsmanship of Venetian artisans.
Condition: very good vintage condition. The glass globe is free from cracks or chips, with minor surface wear consistent with age. Light patina and wear to the base as expected. Fully functional and in good working order. Please refer to photographs
