A matched pair of Maison Jansen floral table lamps, France, circa 1970

A matched pair of Maison Jansen floral table lamps, France, circa 1970
An elegant matched pair of Maison Jansen floral table lamps, produced in France circa 1970. Exemplifying the maison's celebrated blend of neoclassical refinement and Hollywood Regency glamour, these sculptural lamps transform stylised botanical forms into sophisticated decorative lighting.
Each lamp is modelled as a flowering stem rising from a polished black marble plinth, with gracefully curving gilt metal stems supporting finely crafted leaves and a large multi-petalled blossom. The flowers are beautifully constructed from individually formed brass petals with delicately serrated edges, arranged around a central globe bulb to create a dramatic floral composition. When illuminated, the light radiates through the layered petals, producing a warm, atmospheric glow and accentuating the rich golden finish.
The combination of sculptural brasswork and contrasting black marble bases reflects the luxurious aesthetic for which Maison Jansen became internationally renowned. Decorative both lit and unlit, the lamps make an impressive statement on a pair of bedside tables, a sideboard, or a console, bringing a refined touch of French mid-century elegance to any interior.
