n imaginative Italian sculptural table lamp dating from the 1970s, modelled as an elegant swan resting upon a natural coral formation and set beneath a striking stylised heart-shaped lotus leaf shade. Combining natural materials with sculptural design, the lamp perfectly encapsulates the glamorous and organic aesthetic that characterised Italian lighting during the decade.
The swan is finely detailed, with textured plumage and cast metal wings, poised gracefully atop a genuine coral base mounted on an oval plinth. Rising from the swan's back is the original translucent heart-shaped shade, inspired by the form of a lotus leaf, its delicate radiating metal ribs becoming beautifully defined when illuminated. The elegant curve of the swan's neck seamlessly supports the shade, creating a harmonious and highly decorative composition.
