A rectangular shagreen mirror with hardstone cabochons, France, late 20th century

£995.00

An extremely unusual rectangular covered in green dyed shagreen. Shagreen is an exotic shark skin often used on Art Deco furniture of the 1930s, highly prized today. Although a lot more recent in manufacture, this item of furniture draws inspiration from the early to mid 20th century pieces and adds a very contemporary twist with large hardwood cabochons encased in brass and strategically placed along two of the four sides to give a lovely asymmetry to the mirror. Quite possibly a one-off, it can be hung both vertically and horizontally, giving a unique look to any modern interior.

Condition: some scuffs and marks consistent with use, otherwise good. Please refer to photographs
