A stylish pair of Italian armchairs dating from the 1950s, with elegantly shaped timber frames and upholstered seats, backs and sides.

Each chair features a high, gently flared back above a deep sprung seat, with particularly attractive sculptural wooden arms flowing continuously into the front legs. The restrained frame and generous upholstered form are characteristic of Italian domestic furniture of the post-war period.

Upholstered in rich red velvet, the chairs have a strong architectural silhouette while remaining relatively light and refined in appearance.

Condition: in good vintage condition with wear and marks consistent with age and use. The upholstery shows some signs of wear. Please refer to photographs.
