This two-seater “675 Maralunga” sofa, presented in its original off-white leather upholstery, is a hallmark of 1970s Italian design. Conceived by Vico Magistretti for Cassina, the Maralunga marries a clean, minimalist profile with unparalleled comfort. Its signature feature are the individually adjustable backrests which allows each seat to switch effortlessly between an upright position for focused conversation and a reclined posture for relaxed lounging and head support. This late-20th-century example remains in excellent condition, its supple leather and precise tailoring preserving the timeless elegance that made the Maralunga an instant classic.
Vico Magistretti (1920–2006) was one of Italy’s most influential designers, celebrated for his ability to blend functionality with subtle, human-centered aesthetics. His collaboration with Cassina, an iconic Italian manufacturer founded in 1927, yielded some of the most enduring pieces of the modern era.
