£1,795.00

A striking Italian floor lamp designed by Carlo Nason for Mazzega, dating to the 1970s. This sculptural composition features five Murano blown glass shades with a soft white gradient finish, each mounted on slender stainless steel stems of varying heights.

The overall form evokes a cluster of reeds or cattails rising organically from the base, creating a graceful, nature-inspired silhouette. The elongated tubular shades resemble seed heads, gently diffusing the light to produce a warm, atmospheric glow. This interplay between natural form and modern materials is characteristic of Italian lighting design of the period, where organic inspiration met refined industrial craftsmanship.

The polished chrome and stainless steel base anchors the composition while enhancing the vertical rhythm of the “reed-like” stems. Carlo Nason’s work for Mazzega is celebrated for its innovative handling of Murano glass and clean contemporary lines, making this an exceptional and highly collectible example of 1970s Italian design.

Condition: good vintage condition. Light age-related wear to the chrome base and metal elements consistent with use. Glass shades in good order with no visible cracks. Fully functional. Please refer to photographs.
