A green hand blown Murano glass table lamp, Venice, recent manufacture
A spherical hand blown Murano glass lamp in deep bottle green with bold horizontal white striping, presented on a polished metal tripod base. The graphic language is more assertive and contemporary than classical Murano, and the saturated colour mass means the object reads as strong sculptural glass even unlit. Decorative value is high in contemporary interiors, modern eclectic spaces and post Memphis influenced rooms because the visual identity carries both confidence and wit.
Recent Murano manufacture delivers excellent clarity, crisp line work and a very high level of finishing control, which gives the lamp the presence of a collectible glass object rather than simply functional lighting.
