A Murano glass mushroom table lamp in the manner of Tommaso Barbi, Italy, 1980s

£295.00

A striking Italian table lamp from the 1980s, executed in the manner of Tommaso Barbi. The lamp features a sculptural mushroom form composed of thick, frosted Murano glass with finely incised horizontal lines encircling both the shade and base. The subtle linear decoration creates a refined texture that softly diffuses the light, producing a warm and atmospheric glow when illuminated.

The domed shade rests elegantly on a rounded base, both trimmed with polished brass rings that add a sophisticated contrast to the matte glass surface. The proportions are beautifully balanced, resulting in a timeless yet distinctly 1980s Italian design.

Tommaso Barbi was known for his elegant and luxurious interpretations of modern design, often combining glass, brass and refined finishes to create sculptural lighting and furniture pieces. This lamp reflects that same aesthetic sensibility, with its harmonious form and high-quality materials.

A statement piece ideal for a bedside table, console or living room setting, bringing both soft illumination and sculptural presence to an interior.

Condition: very good vintage condition. Minor surface wear to the brass elements and light age-related marks to the glass, consistent with age and use. The lamp is in full working order. Please refer to photographs.

Dimensions: 44cm high, 29cm diameter
