£1,195.00

A set of three Venetian wall or ceiling lights, hand-blown on the island of Murano, Italy, circa 1980. Each piece is mounted on a metallic structure that allows it to be fixed either to a wall, as shown in the photograph, or to a ceiling, offering versatility and flexibility of use. The glass itself has a frosted effect, delicately enriched with gold leaf along the edges, which catches and reflects the light beautifully, giving each piece a soft yet radiant glow.

At the centre of each light sits a distinctive medusa-like motif, a striking decorative feature that adds a sense of drama and individuality to the design. The marriage of the frosted glass surface with gilded detailing creates an elegant play of texture and light, making these pieces far more than simple lighting but decorative works of art in their own right. Their sculptural quality ensures that they can hold their own as focal points within both modern and traditional interiors.

The island of Murano has been synonymous with glassmaking excellence for centuries, and these lights continue that legacy of extraordinary craftsmanship. Murano glassmakers perfected techniques such as gold leaf infusion, frosted finishes, and complex moulded forms, combining artistry with technical innovation. This set of lights embodies that tradition, bringing a timeless Venetian refinement into the contemporary home, while serving as a reminder of the unique heritage and enduring appeal of Murano glass.
