A striking Italian arc floor lamp attributed to Harvey Guzzini, dating from the late 1960s to the 1970s. The design features a bold red hemispherical acrylic shade with a white diffuser underside, a highly characteristic combination seen in Guzzini’s production during this period.

The mushroom-style dome is suspended from a sweeping chrome arc, creating a dynamic, forward-reaching silhouette typical of the “Arc” and “Clan”-era vocabulary. The vivid red acrylic reflects Guzzini’s celebrated use of strong, modern colours such as red, orange, and white, materials that became synonymous with Italian space-age lighting design.

The chromed structure is complemented by moulded plastic detailing at the joints and cable clips, further reinforcing the unmistakably Italian and distinctly Guzzini aesthetic. The circular base provides stability while maintaining the lamp’s clean, modern profile.

Harvey Guzzini was one of the most important Italian lighting manufacturers of the post-war period. Founded in the 1950s by the Guzzini brothers in Recanati, the company became internationally recognised during the 1960s and 1970s for its innovative use of new materials such as acrylic and moulded plastics. Collaborating with leading designers, Harvey Guzzini produced iconic space-age lighting that combined bold colour, futuristic form, and technical experimentation. Today, original Harvey Guzzini pieces are highly collectible and regarded as key examples of Italian modern design.
