A dramatic oversized articulated floor lamp based on the classic British Anglepoise design, dating from the late 20th century.

Executed in black-painted metal, the lamp is constructed on a substantial stepped weighted base with a tall articulated arm incorporating exposed tension springs and adjustable joints. The exceptionally large bell-shaped metal shade can be repositioned together with the articulated arm, allowing the direction and height of the light to be altered.

The design takes the familiar engineering principles of the Anglepoise task lamp and dramatically increases their scale, transforming a utilitarian desk-light form into an imposing piece of sculptural floor lighting. The exposed springs, pivoting arms and predominantly black finish give the lamp a particularly strong industrial character.

Its exaggerated proportions make it an impressive statement piece, equally effective as functional task lighting or as a sculptural element within a contemporary or industrial interior.

Condition: in vintage condition with wear, marks and losses to the painted finish consistent with age and use. Shade with dents and misshapen. Please refer to photographs.
