A delightful cocktail bar in brown formica wood laminate, made in England around the 1950s / 1960s. Typical of the era, these new materials of the time meant that wood could be used in kitchens countertops and bar counters without the worry of damaging the wood due to moisture. A variety of different ideas for home use came to the market and this cocktail bar is one of the best available. The elegant Art Deco bar is supported by four black tapering legs. The lower section for storage; practical and useful. The magic however is in the upper section. The drop down counter opens to reveal an illuminated bar, the light triggered as soon as the counter opens. As it drops to a horizontal position, a cantilever mechanism brings out a mirrored shelf for easy access, with original cocktail sticks displayed to both sides. The black glass topped counter displays a variety of well known brands of the time and it invites the user to prepare their perfect cocktail with all the necessary tools and ingredients any barman could wish for.
A truly fun, quirky, delightful way to embellish any interior and bring a smile to everyones face.
Condition: good overall vintage condition. The light works perfectly well but item to be sold without a plug, we would recommend rewiring. Very minor scrapes here and there. Please refer to photographs
