A mahogany and glass drinks trolley, Italy, circa 1960
An elegant Italian drinks trolley dating from the 1960s, with a distinctive sculptural mid-century design.
The trolley is constructed with a shaped wooden frame, probably mahogany, its sweeping tapered supports rising to form a pair of integrated handles. The large rectangular upper tier is fitted with a clear glass surface within a metal surround, while a smaller wooden lower shelf provides additional space for bottles and barware.
Particularly attractive are the dramatically splayed legs and angular profile of the frame, combining strong architectural lines with gently curved detailing. Raised on four castors with brass and silver-tone fittings for ease of movement.
Condition: good vintage condition with surface wear, marks and areas of wear to the wood and metalwork consistent with age and use. Please refer to the photographs for further details of condition.
