An elegant Italian drinks trolley by Cesare Lacca, dating from the 1960s.

The trolley is constructed from slender brass tubing with contrasting wooden details to the uprights and handle, a combination frequently associated with Lacca’s refined mid-century designs. The dynamic crossed framework supports two rectangular clear glass tiers, providing generous space for bottles, decanters and glassware.

The upper tier appears almost suspended within the angular frame, while the sweeping handle and intersecting supports give the trolley a particularly light and sculptural profile. Raised on four brass castors for ease of movement.

Cesare Lacca was an Italian architect and designer particularly known for his elegant serving trolleys, occasional tables and furniture combining brass, wood and glass during the post-war period.

Condition: good vintage condition with surface wear, marks, patination and areas of wear to the brass and wood consistent with age and use. The top tier of the trolley has a slight lean forward and so is not perfectly parallel to the ground. Please refer to the photographs for further details of condition.
