A striking Italian stainless steel cocktail table attributable to Willy Rizzo, dating from the 1970s.

Of bold, sculptural form, the table is constructed with a broad circular top above a tapering cylindrical body, entirely clad in brushed stainless steel. The centre incorporates a concealed drinks compartment, accessed by a circular black lacquered sliding top which moves aside to reveal a recessed interior designed for storing bottles.

The combination of highly architectural geometry, polished metal and cleverly integrated bar storage is strongly characteristic of the glamorous furniture associated with Willy Rizzo during the 1970s. Rizzo’s interiors and furniture frequently combined stainless steel, chrome, brass, lacquer and luxurious finishes, with cocktail tables and concealed bars forming an important part of his distinctive aesthetic.

Particularly impressive in scale, the piece functions both as a cocktail table and a compact drinks bar, making it a highly decorative example of 1970s Italian design.

Condition: in good vintage condition with wear, marks, scratches and some oxidation to the metal consistent with age and use. Please refer to photographs.
