A stylish modernist champagne or wine cooler dating from the second half of the 20th century, circa 1970.

Of substantial cylindrical form, the cooler is made from thick clear glass with a heavy base and fitted with a broad polished silver-plated metal rim. Two opposing cut-outs to the rim form discreet integral carrying handles, giving the piece a particularly clean and architectural appearance.

Designed to accommodate a single bottle surrounded by ice, its restrained combination of clear glass and polished metal is characteristic of luxury barware of the 1960s and 1970s.
